LOOSE OUTLINE (*Feel free to adjust Thorvin to better suit your particular campaign and flesh out his backstory further if you feel necessary)

Thorvin grew up under a proud Dwarven household of brewers who have always been slightly ashamed, if not embarrassed, that he never developed into a 'real Dwarf' like his siblings, with him mostly being known as a somewhat reserved author of several non-fiction titles dedicated to explosives - he chose to leave his family home when he confided in his relatives his lifelong dream that they just laughed off, he wanted to be the first Dwarf to walk on the moon.
